Ramsgrange Community School Teacher James Meaney had the honour of presenting the closing session at Maths Counts 2016 in UCD April 23, 2016.
The Maths Counts National Conference for all maths teachers is taking place this weekend in Friday 22 and Saturday 23 April. Congratulations to Wexford teachers Julie Duggan and Olive McGuinness from Coláiste Bríde Enniscorthy and James Meaney from Ramsgrange Community School whose Reflections on Practice work on teaching theorems through structured problem solving being presented at the conference. More students than ever are sitting the higher level maths in the Leaving Certificate, the new Project Maths syllabus, not necessarily due to it being either innovative or student-friendly, but because of the lure of the 25 bonus CAO points introduced in 2012.
